Kazi Mohammad Mahbobor Rahman is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, with more than sixteen years of teaching and research experience in political science, public policy and governance. He worked at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) as a SUSI Visiting Scholar 2023, funded by the US Department of State. As an International Public Policy Association Steering Committee Member, he represents the global South, especially Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Central America. Since 2019, he has been an Associate Editor of Bangladesh Political Science Review. His current research will answer the question: How have the authoritarian military regimes impacted economic development (Myanmar and Thailand)? He proposed a ‘theory of comparative intergovernmentalism’ and a ‘competitive market in aid and conditionality provision’ at the 77th and 78th Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Conference (Chicago, USA), respectively. Furthermore, he presented papers at the International Political Science Congress 2023, the 5th International Public Policy Conference 2021, the 4th International Public Policy Workshop 2022, 79th & 80th MPSA Conferences, Dhaka University Centenary Webinar 5, 2021, Military Science and Military Art International Conference 2022 and Budapest Conference 2023 (with the Support of the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union). Mr. Rahman was the keynote speaker at the second founding anniversary of the Jagannath University Journalist Association. He is a single author in more than a dozen articles published in peer-reviewed journals. Five of his recently published articles focus on the comparative regionalism. He achieved a Master of Arts in Public Policy degree specializing in international public policy from the Central European University. Moreover, he obtained a Master of Social Sciences and Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science with First Class, First Position from the University of Dhaka. His research interests include economic development in democratic and authoritarian systems, national, regional and global policymaking processes, international financial institutions' governance programs, and regional intergovernmental organizations. Beyond academic works, he has written articles for the leading dailies. He is a member and a leader in various associations, including MPSA, IPSA, IPPA and DUPDAA. Mr Rahman was given a prize by the Prime Minister of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh for achieving the First Position in the Secondary level examination in 1996.
